WRITE A LETTER FROM YOUR 90 YEAR-OLD SELF TO YOUR CHILD SELF.

WRITE A LETTER FROM YOUR 90 YEAR-OLD SELF TO YOUR CHILD SELF.

Here’s mine: Dear Heather, I want you to be kind to yourself. You have a lot of love to give and should stand in that love. Bask in it instead of hiding. Don’t be afraid, girl. Fear holds you back. How will you know all of the gifts the universe has for you if you don’t try? Even failure, which is your biggest fear, means you’re trying! Who cares if people think you’re silly? They aren’t living your life or dying your death, and these you must do. Live, live you beautiful, divine creature of God. Laugh, cry, sing, dance, make mistakes, and love, love, love! Accept being loved! Your life will be fuller because of this. There will be people in this world who may try to hurt you, and they may succeed. Don’t take it to heart; they, too, are struggling. Say a prayer for them and let it go. If you hold on to it, it will weigh you down and prevent you from being your authentic self. I have lived the full expression of your life, and I am happy. You have been living at half throttle, and though you are emerging from your cocoon, you are contemplating returning. Why? You already know what it’s like in the dark. You have tasted the Light. Come on out and SHINE! Find out what could be. I love this quote from Rumi; I liken it to the death of the self (the old, non-serving version / “little deaths”). “When I die, I shall soar with the angels, and when I die to the angels, what I shall become you cannot IMAGINE.” GO-Find out what you might become! Fail Forward! Learn and move on. This or something better!
